Stone and brick, a characteristic of Mudejar legacy, make up a labyrinth of 25 metres in depth and over 3 km in area. Bodegas Mocén is a genuine museum setting, the restored galleries where temperatures and humidity remain constant all year around, become the perfect setting for wines to be laid to rest.
The Duero River’s influence, its soils and this area’s unique climate outline the characteristics of Bodegas Mocén wines. In fact, these wines, of the Rueda Appellation of Origin, have been moving onto the top places in the consumer rankings. Bodegas Mocén white wines are made at a low temperature to preserve the potential aromas of the native grape varieties.
Among these wines Alta Plata Verdejo is one of the best. A truly elegant white wine with a good acid bite, made from 100% Verdejo, which is a unique grape variety of this land and provides wines with a great backbone and excellent blend of floral aromas.
Equally remarkable are the barrel-fermented Alta Plata:
Alta Plata Rueda, a blend of Verdejo and Viura that develops into a fleshy, fresh wine with fruit aromas, and Alta Plata Sauvignon Blanc that is increasingly recognized at international tastings. Indeed Bodegas Mocén has successfully produced high quality wines that improve year by year and has been an award-winner on many occasions at Prestigious International Wine Competitions.
